Original Landscape and Seascape Paintings

Matthew Cordwell’s original landscape and seascape paintings explore the shifting light and atmosphere of the British countryside and coastline. Working primarily outdoors before developing pieces further in the studio, each painting begins as a direct response to place, weather and time of day.

Large skies, distant horizons and open space are recurring themes throughout the work. Rather than strict realism, the paintings focus on mood and the subtle changes in light across land, sea and sky. Brushwork remains expressive, allowing each piece to retain the immediacy of being observed in the moment.

All paintings shown here are original landscape and seascape paintings, created in oil and completed by the artist. Sizes, materials and framing details are listed individually, and enquiries are welcomed for collectors seeking additional information or guidance.

New landscape paintings are released throughout the year, with early access and offers shared to subscribers through the collectors list.
